Principle & Testing Methodology
Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging measures the precise time taken by a high-frequency longitudinal acoustic pulse to travel through the material, reflect off the back-wall, and return to the transducer. Knowing sound velocity in the medium enables digital calculation of wall thickness down to ±0.01 mm.
